Seattle Asian American Film Festival 2022 Fundraiser

Since 2013, the Seattle Asian American Film Festival has been building community with and uplifting the voices and stories of Asian American filmmakers. As a volunteer-run organization, our staff have passionately spent the past decade organizing fun events, thoughtful screenings, and incredible programs. From opening night parties with performances to free outdoor screenings in the heart of Chinatown-International District, SAAFF has been dedicated to sharing the arts of Asian American artists with the Pacific Northwest.

To continue sharing arts and film programs, we need YOUR help.

Join us on Wednesday, September 1 at 7 pm for the SAAFF X Fundraiser!

Hosted by Aleksa Manila, performance and a Grooving dance class with Malicious Vixens, a panel highlighting the celebration of joy through storytelling, fun merch and giveaway prizes, SAAFF X Fundraiser is sure to be a night to remember as we reminisce the past decade and continue building our community.

Celebrating Joy Through Storytelling

The past year and a half through the pandemic has been tough for so many of us; from quarantine and loss to anti-Asian racism and rhetoric, the constant bombardment of sad, scary, and frustrating news and stories can be hard to bear. Independent films and storytelling bring to light the traumas and pain within our communities’ histories and experiences, but also pathways to healing, self-expression, and celebration.

How do we continue to look after each other in these hard times? What are ways storytelling and radical self-care can uplift joy within our communities? We’ve invited artists who work within realms of self-expression – from comedy, performance, and arts – to discuss celebrating joy through storytelling.
