2021 Restaurant Partner: Macadons

Over the years, SAAFF has partnered with many restaurants to bring our festival goers just a small taste of everything Seattle has to offer. This year, we are happy to announce that our restaurant partnerships have returned – with a twist! With our festival being all online, we wanted to spread our partnerships to the greater Seattle area! Get ready to hear the stories and voices of this year’s restaurant partners and get ready to find out how you can enjoy the taste of some of Seattle’s best restaurants while you watch our largest festival yet in the comfort of your own home!
First up, learn more about Donna and Michael, owners and operators of Macadons. Macadons, which has a retail location in White Center and a warehouse in Tukwila, has been cooking up sweet treats for Seattlites since 2013. Grown out of a pure passion for baking, Macadons offers a wide selection of flavors — including many gluten free options. We asked Michael a bit about their business, and here’s what he had to say!
When and what inspired you to start your business?
We started making macarons for friends around Christmas of 2013 with no plans on turning it into a business. It began as something just to do for fun, then changed into a side hustle, and has now grown into a business that we focus on full time! The growth of the company has always been grown organically through word of mouth and we love what we do!
How has COVID-19 affected your business?
Us, as well as many other small business owners are drastically affected by COVID-19. Times definitely haven’t been easy, but we have decided to not give up. We will continue to try to pivot from the way that we used to do things and constantly innovate to stay relevant to keep business coming in.
What would you like our SAAFF audience to know about your business?
We care deeply about our team, our community, and our environment. All we want, is to spread joy and positivity in a world that could absolutely use more of it.
