Director's Bio

Naomi Iwamoto is a second generation Japanese American writer and director whose passion for storytelling was nurtured very early on by growing up between two cultures. She received the Edward Small Directing Award for excellence in directing and was named an Ace-Nikaido Fellow for advancing understanding of Japan and US-Japan relations. She holds an M.F.A. from the USC School of Cinematic Arts and holds a B.A. from UCLA in Political Science and Asian American Studies. She is a Ryan Murphy Diversity Directing mentee, a program that support female directors of color.
