George Takaki was born in Los Angeles, went to camp at Heart Mountain, Wyoming, and grew up in Montebello. A graduate of UC Riverside as a chemistry major, George then went to graduate school at the University of Kansas. Having worked 32 years as a teacher and Assistant Principal, George been retired for 12 years and is into biking, hiking, filmmaking, Jane Austen, volunteering for the Gardena Pioneer Project, and physical fitness.
