The Boy Under the Piano
Directed by Philippa Wong
18 year-old Alfie, an autistic teen, struggles to find his place in his large immigrant Chinese family. Having endured years of ridicule, his family is about to receive the surprise of their lifetime as Alfie finally sets out to find his own voice.
Born in Hawaii, raised in Hong Kong, and educated in the U.K and NYC, Philippa’s passion for filmmaking is a result of the influences different cultures had on her.
With a degree in music from King’s College London, she has been artistic from a young age, playing three instruments at a professional level. At 17, she performed Beethoven’s Emperor Concerto with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra.
Now at 22, Philippa is more than ready to solidify her transition to filmmaking. After graduating from School of Visual Arts with a masters in directing, she is now working in Hong Kong.
